Not only will you find information about the school, but also an idea of how we encourage and support families to work with their children. It is important to us that every child feels happy and secure so they can positively develop their understanding and learning and enjoy all their achievements.

Barton Junior School is a friendly, two form entry, Junior School in Dover with a very supportive, dedicated and friendly staff team. We are all proud of this school and we recommend that prospective parents/carers visit us during the school day so you can see for yourself how welcoming we are.

There has been a school on this site for over a hundred years and the school joined the Dover Federation for the Arts in January 2008 along with Shatterlocks Infant School and Nursery. The Federation also comprises of Astor College for the Arts and White Cliffs Primary College for the Arts. All of the four Federation schools and colleges work in a close partnership, sharing expertise, resources and good working practises.

There is a particularly close link with Shatterlocks Infant School and Nursery ensuring smooth transition for children moving from Year 2 to Year 3.
 
Our class sizes enable us to deliver a stimulating and exciting curriculum experience for every single child. We also benefit from having a number of Study Support Managers and a Federation School Nurse.
