Year 6

Welcome to Year 6, the final year at Barton. During this year we will work hard to not only develop the children’s academic ability through their curriculum studies, but also their confidence and enjoyment of their future education and journey onwards to secondary school.

But rather than us tell you about Year 6, we thought that we would ask some of the Year 6 children to tell you all about life in Year 6, this is what they had to say:

Picture 1

“Life in year 6 is really fun.” (Cameron)

“Year 6 isn’t just work, it’s like a family, but there is one bad thing, tests, tests and tests!” (Alexandra)

“Year 6 can be the toughest year with all of the hard maths, English and science, but also the easiest year, with all of the fun we have.” (Damien)

“Year 6 prepares you for SAT’s, so the work is quite hard at the start. We mostly study Maths and English, we have boosters for these subjects as well. Also there are great teachers and SSM’s who will help you through the tough times of Year 6.” (Brandon)

“Life in Year 6 is awesome, the teachers teach you lots of stuff before the SAT’s, but they do it through fun lessons, even boosters and Easter School are really fun!” (Jack)

“We learn a lot in Year 6 because we have two brilliant teachers. The subjects are the same but you have to be prepared to learn and work hard.” (Clementine)

“Life in Year 6 is hard and easy, fun and boring, but the best bit about Year 6 is that the teacher’s want the best for us!” (Molly)
